Track of the Day: Biffy Clyro - 'Rearrange'
It's been some time since Biffy Clyro made an appearance on the music scene, with their last album 'Opposites' being released in 2013. However, they've made a rather spectacular return. Their new album 'Ellipsis' conveys a new dawn for them; the band have taken a long pause, but are back and their new work is bathed both in a new sound and message.
'Ellipsis' is a more delicate album than the band's musical past; with lighter vocals and less of a focus on the rock genre that the band use to covet so determinedly. My go-to track is 'rearrange', a gentle, yet poignant discussion of love, heartbreak and what it means to be broken. The vocals utter the yearning to heal what is broken in a lover, whilst not attempting to fix any part of them. This is significant as it conveys what it means to be an individual; appreciated for who you are, despite your flaws. If someone doesn't want to change you, you've found something worth holding onto.
The track is a both powerful and dusted in beauty, a great listen and welcomed return from Biffy Clyro.
